Established in 1995, R&J Farms has been passionately providing high-quality shade and ornamental trees throughout the upper Midwest for over 30 Years. With over 110 varieties of trees in production, our family-owned nursery spans nearly 200 acres in West Salem, Ohio. We specialize in producing premium-grade shade and ornamental trees available in various caliper sizes for whatever your needs may be, and we also offer a selection of Arborvitae.

Drip Irrigation
Our entire farm utilizes a drip irrigation system. This method ensures water is evenly dispersed around the trees as it soaks into the ground, promoting uniform root growth. As a result, our trees are able to develop a strong, healthy, and fibrous root system which stays close to the tree, resulting in less stress when digging the trees as the roots are not reaching for moisture. This is essential for the standard we strive for, as it promotes the robust growth and vitality of our trees.
Regular Selective Pruning
We are constantly working on our trees throughout every season. When it comes to growing trees to the standard that we do, it requires meticulous care in pruning to achieve the desired structure that we aim for. We pay close attention to the direction and shape of our trees' branches, leader, and trunk and prune accordingly all year round, while also utilizing stakes to ensure the health and longevity of our products long after they leave our farm.
Year-round Shipping
We accept orders year-round! While our primary seasons are in Spring and Fall, we offer pre-dug trees and #15 and #25 containers for summer sales. We can even harvest in the winter as long as the ground is not frozen! Let us help you find the perfect trees for your needs!
